Abstract
"£1 Privacy" is a 3D animation and a series of physical installations that explore the issue of privacy data breaches and illegal trafficking in the digital age. Visitors are invited to explore the ethical balance of private data auctions and value assessments as part of a private data auction.
Drawing inspiration from creators' personal experiences and everyday transactions like auctions and dollar stores, "£1 Privacy" speculates on an auction company that commodifies individuals' private data legacies and sells them to the highest bidder. The installation provokes reflection and dialogue on the consequences of personal data breaches, illegal auctions, and the ethical implications of the digital age. Visitors are challenged to consider how commodification shapes our interactions, memories, and the value of personal identity data in the digital age.
